With just hours to go until the first GOP Presidential candidate debate circus is unleashed, it appears the GOP is in full panic mode. With 10 hopefuls heading to their lecterns, only one stands out (in polls) and that, as The Hill reports, despite being snubbed by The Koch botthers, has Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus saying that Donald Trump is offering his party’s voters a breath of fresh air. As The Hill reports, “Donald Trump has tapped into something where people are tired of the veneer of the plasticized politics that we get,” Priebus told hosts Alisyn Camerota and Chris Cuomo on CNN’s “New Day.” “People are gravitating to that,” he said. “I’ve had great conversations with Donald Trump. I think he wants to be the Republican nominee.” “He knows that if Hillary Clinton is going to be beat or Joe Biden is going to be beat, it’s going to be by a Republican,” Priebus added. * * * We assume this is simply - "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" strategy but represents quite a swing from the denial and denigration of just a few weeks ago.
